Brief: Hangmen Also Die!
Hangmen Also Die!
Jordan
Fritz Lang directed, Bertolt Brecht's one Hollywood credit. Loosely based on the assassination of Reinhard "The Hangman of Prague" Heydrich, though the movie gets it pretty much entirely wrong because the mission hadn't been declassified when it was made. A clever plot to frame a Fifth Columnist for the assassination is pretty interesting, but the movie carries a lot of dead weight, and a fairly bloated run time. Definitely worth it for Lang enthusiasts, though, or for anyone who is a big enough Brecht fan to look into his deep cuts.
